This type of wine is produced from grapes grown in limestone and red clay soil structure in Denizli Güney region. Öküzgözü and Boğazkere grapes are among the noblest grape varieties of Anatolia. Even though Öküzgözü is known as the largest grape grown within the borders of Turkey, its name, contrary to popular belief, comes from its dark colour like ox eye instead of its size. Boğazkere takes its name from the feeling of tannic, dryness and astringence that it leaves on the back side of the tongue. A mild ruby colour, Leaving distinct flavours of red forest fruits, sour cherry, plum, sweet spices, black pepper, clove and cinnamon on the palate It is a balaned and bodied wine which has a long finish with strong acidity and fruity, coming from red forest fruits, elegant tannins of boğazkere and öküzgözü. Harmony with food: It may fit with local flavours of Turkish cuisine, kebabs, Southeastern Anatolian cuisine, spicy foods and hard and ripe cheeses like Kars Gruyere.
